Ballin on a budget

I absolutely love looking at different famous people's instagrams and style blogs for fashion inspiration because their outfits are always really interesting and unique. But, the problem I have with some of these looks is that they are absolutely unreasonable for the average teenage girl. NEWS FLASH, most girls our age do not have the money to afford designer clothes, handbags, sunglasses, bathing suits, etc. The list goes on and on. Most people look at me and think that I have so much clothing, which I can't deny is not true, but I like to describe my style sometimes as "Ballin on a budget." I'm letting you all in on a little secret; most items in my wardrobe are $20 or less. You can still get the high fashion look without the high fashion price, TRUST ME!! I've been searching for deals my whole life. It's all about how you put pieces together and finding items that feel and look expensive without the triple digit numbers on the price tags.

MY GO TO BARGAIN STORES:

-Forever 21 (yes, I know people see this place as tacky sometimes, but if you look hard enough you can find almost identical pieces that Free People, Top Shop, and many other higher price brands have)

-Be careful with this one though, make sure the fabrics and colors don't look too cheap, I sometimes find that the lacy items here are questionable

-This store has amazing flowy shorts and basic crop tops (especially great halters) !!!!

-Nordstrom Rack

-Honestly, I don't know why anyone would step into nordstrom when you can find high quality brands for cheap at the rack!! I always find Free People (my favorite brand) highly discounted here)

-AMAZING for bathing suits, shoes, and jeans

-TJ Max and Marshalls

-I used to go into these stores and completely look past the clothes, but if you dig you can actually find some really cute stuff and most of their items are $10 or less, maybe $15!!!!

-Great for cute, basic tops, also GUESS WHAT! they sometimes have high brand names for cheap here too, such as Free People and Wildfox

-Between Friends (in Bellevue)

-This is one of the stores I've kept secret from a lot of people because its a hidden gem!!! It is a consignment store that sells very high end clothes, but for cheap!!

-What i love about this store is you can go in and find something that nobody has

-Fave items from here include sweaters, jeans, and fancier tops

As I continue to post on this blog, I will share more and more of my favorite places, but these are just a few good ones to start!!

THE POWER OF THE SALE:

Here's my opinion on sales; WHY WOULD YOU EVER BUY ANYTHING FULL PRICE???????????????? Everything goes on sale at some point, and you can ALWAYS find something just as cute for a cheaper price. Also, another one of my secrets is to always buy sale items because they are usually less popular. This means you have a much less likely chance of showing up to school with the same top as half your class. And please, please, please people; do not buy Free People at full price unless you have unlimited money. This is my favorite brand in the world, yet I rarely go into the store because you can find this stuff on discount at Nordstrom Rack, TJ Max, Marshalls, Macy's, and so many other places.

ITS OK TO SPLURGE:

By posting this, I am not saying you should give up on shopping if you can't find a sale, I'm just warning you that they are always out there and it's easier than you think to shop smart. But every once in a while, we all find something we just fall in love with. Buy it!!! If you love it and feel amazing in it, it is well worth the money. And I know some people reading this probably do have close to unlimited funds and thats ok too! If you can afford the "nice stuff", then by all means do what makes you happy, but I personally feel that shopping is SO much more satisfying when you find a good deal and a unique item.
